Nice & Close stop on the way to Val-dIsere -sightseeing, etc
Hi All;
We are travelling to Val-d'Isère this weekend, and we are leaving the day before, to enjoy a bit of France.
The idea is to travel as much as we can towards Val-d'Isère, and stop in a nice place, that we can visit some sites and also enjoy the local cuisine and hospitality.
Do you know of any places that my family and I could enjoy a bit os sightseeing that is close, like 2 or 3 hours from Val-d'Isère pls?
Many thanks

Hey Guys
Thanks, I had a look at Le Bourget-du-Lac, France- and it is amazing, however hotels are fully booked!
Damm it!
I'm looking into Lyon now.
Thanks

Hi all
I hope you had a great Xmas.
So we went to Val D'Isere, just over 1500 miles (return), stopped in Lyon on the way there and in Paris on the way back.
The resort had much of the pistes open, we had fresh snow on the 20/21 and for the rest of the week they topped up with snow cannons. There were some icy patches. However for a level 1 skier, it all looked the same!
Unfortunately, I was hoping to use my snow-chains, I didn't have the chance or the opportunity, I guess I need to go back in February for that
Other than 2 near misses on the Arc de Triomph and a broken passenger mirror (my own fault whilst reversing on a tight car park in Lyon) my Disco behaved well, 25mpg, it drinks diesel like crazy after 70mph, I was driving most of the time at 80mpg, with a fully loaded car, so I was penalised!
My family did well, apart from the bruises no broken bones!!
Mont Blanc- Italian side.
I wish you all a very happy new year.
