I would really like to do it next year with some of the lads on here but I realise that 5 or 6 days is a big ask especially if you have children or don't work for yourself as holidays would be used up with the family. Its not just like a weekend camp but i think a lot of fun all the same. It would be a bit like a mini expedition. I do not mind organising it at all but just need to settle on dates and numbers so the camping can be pre booked. I realise that I cannot suite all the people but I see this as a flexible trip because you can meet up with us at any point along the route as you know where we are heading and where we will be camping that night as it is all mapped out. It will also work the other way round because you can do part and then leave when you want.

I did this in September and can thoroughly recommend it.
From home in South Gloucestershire its was 1700 miles over six days. We went across from Carlisle to Edinburgh and up the east coast. Midge situation was OK as long as you don't get out of the car!

Sounds good, I'd love to do it but not sure on our availability, I'll be keeping watch of the thread

Just done 1k on a recent holiday in Cornwall and returned just on 30mpg. Must admit I was happy with that so if you are camping the overall cost wouldn't be to bad. Especially when you take the experience into account.
As I've said SWMBO has a big birthday next year around the time in question (50), she won't thank me for that, so may well have other plans when this is on.D4 MY15 SE TECH

I have been looking into campsites along the route and it is pretty well served. There is also wild camping which I believe is legal in Scotland but not sure on the exact rules of it.
