Watchnight service at the Kirk. Hadn’t been planned, as I’d tanned a bottle of wine and three Hobgoblns.
Could not shut my eyes during the prayers as the building was spinning

Fortunately, she was on the far side of my two sons for the service. Sons took great delight in advising their grandfather of my misfortune at Christmas dinner today - he’s a retired minister and former Moderator of the Kirk, so well used to turning up at the Watchnight. Less used to it when it’s one of the Kirk elders......

Now after spending plus side of £250 for 3 of us I'm wondering what the hell was that about. Food just about met the description, had to remind them about onion roast but everything completely devoid of taste. More taste in the board than in the cheese, turkey dry, sprouts like bullets . Couple next to use complained said they weren't happy. I had booked and paid for this treat well in advance and was disappointed.Vote with my feet, wont be back
Miller & Carter opened near us just over a year ago, gets slated by the locals, haven’t used it myself, for a steak Middletons is my preference.
After just over one year I’ll keep away.
