Oil level not available

So - I want to check my oil level, and for about 3-4 days now my LR4 refuses to help. "Not available"...

Feels like a bad date where I've been stood up a few times!

Is this just a typical electrical glitch, or could something be done to sort it out?

Have you left it long enough after switching engine off?

Check it first thing in the morning before you start the car.

Andy - if the engine has been running you need to switch it off and then leave it for at least 15 minutes before the check oil level function is available on the info screen.

Don't we just love D4's and their foibles Laughing

It isn’t a morning thing it’s oil temperature, liquids expand when hot and depending how hot give a different reading, just like tyres check the pressures when cold Thumbs Up
On some older D4s oil level check when worm can be overridden by pressing the cruise button twice.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

What worked for me..

Bonnet open
Drivers door open
Ignition on but engine not started

Select oil level on dash menu
If not showing press CAN twice in short succession.

Good luck
