OK, I'm a convert...
When I bought my first D4 I wasn't sure it was the right vehicle for me, but I'd just handed back my Disco Sport for a full refund and needed to stay mobile. A friend was selling his D4, so I bought it.
I loved it. So much so I knew I wanted to keep a D4 for a few years, but the higher mileage of the first one didn't really fit with that plan (I do a fair mileage every year so it would soon have mega-miles).
So I went shopping, and bought a 2016 D4 Landmark in Yulong White from a local dealer:
As you might be able to tell from the registration it's ex-JLR, but it's been laid-up for a little while and has 13k miles on the clock - which is low for a two-year old car.
Oddly I'm its third keeper as JLR's trade agent appears to have registered it in its own name, but that would seem to have been an admin error.
It's fitted for towing, and has a few extra features over my previous HSE including the rear screens, adaptive headlights and of course stop/start and Adblu. The Meridien sound-system seems much better than the Harmon Kardon in the HSE too.
I've not had the chance to drive it much, but looking forward to getting better acquainted with it, and fitting the racking etc. from the old one in to it ready for work.Gordon

Potted history: DS1 had five attempted repairs for rattles over nine months with no success. The dealer decided not to follow the technical bulletin on the subject and did its own thing.
Replaced with DS2 which suffered a gearbox failure at 800 miles, had the same rattles, blindspot monitoring system failed and the rear wheel arch trim came loose. Dealer tried to fix it. Failed.
Refund requested and given in full.
To be fair, most of the problems with the first one were down to the dealer not following procedure and not listening to what I was trying to tell them in terms of how to fix it. They were aggressive, abusive and generally unhelpful - I've never been accused of lying before, especially when I was demonstrably right in what I was saying.
The replacement only happened when I e-mailed Dr Speth - and within 36 hours it was all agreed.
It's sad as I really liked the Sport (and still do); it's just a shame that the build quality has regressed to the 1970s British Leyland era when, as I'm sure even the most ardent LR fan will admit, it could be somewhat wayward.Gordon

Sonia's DS has been fine and is being replaced on Sunday with a new one. I think a lot of the issues are dealer related more than vehicle.
I agree that vehicles should be built without defect, but it's how you're looked after if there's a failure.1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8
