Had the same error code this morning on a 2009 Disco IV, checked the inlet manifolds and the RHS one was cracked!

Thanks for this post!

Alex.

Hi,

have a disco 4 in at the moment, with the same symptoms,

Still getting the P006A Manifold absolute pressure - mass or volume air flow ,, pending

then get P1247 Turbocharger boost pressure low ,,, historic

hhave changed the maf and the manifold pressure sensor, but the above keep coming up, now the dash is showing the engine light.

any thoughts and help please..

thanks

Landynick you most likely have a leak. P006A indicates that the boost pressure measured by the MAP sensor hasn’t reached the level expected based on the air that’s passed through the MAF sensor. Look at both manifolds, pipework, etc. I had a crack in my throttle body that caused this error.

Don’t forget all the fuel rail elements are one use only and need to be replaced. Don’t risk a high pressure fuel leak that’ll burn it to the ground.

This has happened probably about 5 times now and on every occasion no other code. Originally I thought I was going to see a split hose but I cannot find anything and I would have thought if I had a leak I would trigger the code when thrashing the engine. The only other thing I thought of was a restriction in the intercooler (oil) causing a pressure drop or a leak in the intercooler but if the latter I thought I would either hear something or see staining on the intercooler core.
I did read a post where TLO had commented on a technical bulletin relation to tracking the problem with the P1247 code but the link to it was an orphan so I got nowhere.
If the P1247 comes up when there is a big gap between demand boost and actual boost should I be thinking the worst and I am looking at a turbo failure. Its just it goes really well which makes me think that the turbos are compensating for the error at present and the problem lies elsewhere.
Then again, I am no expert and I have probably got this "round my neck" so to speak

Hello,

I have exactly the same problem as explained by llessur.

Unfortunately he did not replied how he has solved the problem.

P1247 happens only sometimes

I really hope that he will read this reply and give answer...then I pay the weekend in Sunny beach

Hi,

When the error occurs due to valve or solenoid stuck open(or closed), would you be able to hear suction at the air intake/box upon acceleration? with P1247 error code?
 Regards

P1247

P1247
Before Easter, I was speeding up on the freeway, I heard a faint gunshot somewhere in the front.
Red triangle, no power ...... I rolled home.
The left intake manifold has broken.
I bought a new one on Ebay £ 70, exchange about 6 hours, no rush over coffee.
It drives like new.

I can’t seem to see any obvious cracks on the manifold, vacuum lines or throttle body visually. I’m going to run a smoke test and see what comes out of it.
 Regards
