Phone bracket for wood trim D3 |
|
Hi
I have a D3 with the OEM piano black wood trim. That’s the one with the silver top and the square corners at the top around the radio / switches. Looks like the trim and top are two pieces but they are not.
I would like to fit a Brodit iPhone mount and am struggling to find a clip to mount it on. The Brodit Pro clip says it’s doesn’t suit wood trim (and a few people seem to have tried them and put them up for sale as they don’t fit). I bought one of the metal brackets that fix under the trim on the side of the radio, but that needs a wider gap between the trim and the radio housing.
Has anyone found a suitable bracket that works with the OEM wood trims?
Thanks in advance

I had the wood trim and the brodit fitted fine.
I have now sold the d3 but I think I still have the brodit if you want to try (if it doesn't work return please)

Thanks for the very kind offer.
After much playing around with fitting of the “piano black wood trim” I have managed to create a large enough gap between the trim / H-panel and the radio wide enough to fit one be of the metal brackets that are available from the likes of co-Star. The Brodit then just bolted directly too it and is solid as a rock. D3 - 2008.5MY HSE, Stornaway Grey, RSE etc - all the toys
