£600 for a service?!
My D4 is due its second service and I got quite a shock when I got a price off my local dealer of over £600! Surely even if it was 6 litres of oil plus oil, air, pollen and fuel filters at £90-100/hr labour, it would come nowhere near this price. I was told my 3rd service would be cheaper, around £430, which still seems very high.
Is this normal or am I being ripped off?

I got my local to pricematch and got it down to £499.D4 HSE, Active Rear Diff, surround cameras, adaptive xenons, heated steering wheel, TPMS, remote park heating, centre console cooler box
Club MT/R
Club RLD spare wheel protector
Club Sump plate & tree slider
Club Blackvue HD
Quoted similar from my local for a B service ..had the same level of surprise / shock
Currently having a look around....Cheers Ian

£600 for a service Having recently got a D4 I was because of the well documented LR dealer rip off service prices tempted to take up the LR dealer offer of a service plan. Got quoted £989 inc VAT after discounts etc for Service 2 and Service 3, 20 month payment plan at £49.59 p/mth. Just seemed a lot given I've just got it and it don't need a service for 12 months, however I may live to regret that decision. Makes BMW competitive based on my previous experiences.

Hmmmm, may have to revisit this unless you have to take any service plan out at point of Sale? - Also because there is a bit of finance on mine I'm not sure if it a condition of the PCP that you must have the vehicle serviced by an authentic LR dealer, anyone know the answer to that one?? save me digging out the paperwork. Was to excited to worry about it when I got the car

Ade , the miles you do that's only a couple of years
Time to ring round a few dealers & see what the best offer is on a service plan Cheers Ian

What were we just saying about brakes being an easy job to start on
That's approx £220 parts on front & £80 rear you could have saved £400 by having a go Cheers Ian

Not being that mechanically able this thread is taking me back to my D3 ownership cost concerns. So for those members out there who are up to speed what is likely to need to be replaced, when and approx. how much?. D4 61 plate with 15k on the clock, last service Sept 12 before I got it. Thanks in advance and be gentle

Just had my second service at 18k.
Two dealers quoted £630 and seemed unwilling to negotiate. So I tried Guy Salmon ...
If anyone is near Guy Salmon at Ayelsford, Kent I would highly recommend them. Dropped the price significantly, gave me a new loan car and did a fantastic job. Fixed faults even the guys from LR denied were problems and the previous dealer had spent numerous visits messing around with. The dreaded creak from the dashboard has now gone albeit with the Dealer having to remove the windscreen to get at it.
Highly recommend these people - great service and a good price.
