It was good to see Wayne, Barry, Peter and Rich at the pub today.
I am doing a reccie on first weekend of September - with a mate (Pajero owner). At this stage, looking at planning a day trip to Mt Wilson with the Disco3 crowd - late September. Will probably camp this time - rather than stay in hotel.
How does that sound everyone?
Cheers,
Rob

Sorry to miss you guys.
Was an Alto getting my transmission tested for Allianz Claim. Took longer than expected, had to collect hire car too. Lots of metal filings in the transmission.
So I am not going to do a flush yet.
Allianz will not exchange the transmission, they want to repair it. This would mean removal at Alto. Transmission sent to repairer for 6-10 days.
Decided to send direct to their repairer (Autotrax, anyone heard of them?) hire car for five days only.
So I am a member of club fooked transmission.
Fabio at Alto was good but Allianz were like Vogons. If they are dealing with the new assured warranty then it is not going to help LR's reputation. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Caver - sorry that you couldn't make it to the lunch, and to hear about the ZF. I guess if LR perpetuate the myth that these boxes are sealed for life, then Allianz won't know what hit them!

Told Allianz that they paid for the recall fix for the brake vacuum pipe and that LR had issued a recall that included my VIN but they said they wouldn't be chasing LR.
Definately change ATF at 50,00km. And if you have an early (MY2004-MY2007) build before they changed the torque converter DO IT NOW! “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Hi Rich
Symptoms were, juddering under load and it would not engage then suddenly take, like you had dropped the clutch on a manual really quick. Symptoms were intermittent. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Hi Caver,
We missed you at the lunch, but knew that there would have been a good reason for your absence.
I'm sorry about the reason though.
Good Luck,
Peter The Bearded Dragon
