My car is having a quick visit to the dealers soon to try to establish why it spat its dummy out on the way home from a challenge event with the trailer on the back on a dual carrige with no hard sholder. The usual christmas tree dashboard and then dumps you at the side of the road (nice) Quick recycle of ignition and all is well , pull off from lane one quickly before Mr Sleepy parks ontop of the car already on my trailer.
While it is in i shall ask them to have a look at the driverside row 2 seatbelt as it has from new been repeatedly shut in the door. I have always thought this was caused by lardy arses dragging it out behind them and being to lazy to look down before shutting the door. Having just spent a week in scotland with passengers in the back it has been brought back to the front of my mind and on reflection it has only ever been the one seatbelt that drags out and gets trapped. I have now compared both belts and the driverside row 2 belt is indeed much slower to rewind in a sloth type manner and hence gets shut in the door so i appologise to my passengers of the last 18 months for calling you all lardy but you could still have looked before shuttng the door
Has anyone else had problems with slow belts???

My drivers side one is a little slow now I think of it. I've got used to double checking before closing the door, but I guess I should get it fixed whilst still under warranty
I have to say that the same happened to me when the car was only a week or so old and while dropping off a friend at the airport they slammed the door on the belt and chipped the paint in the door shut area but as i said i just thought it unlucky. As normally no one is in the back it only comes up from time to time but was pi##ing me off last week as the daughters boyfriend kept on shutting it in the door. I thought he was just a knob what can i say

Think thats bad, my 57 plate ex HA front door panels are both badly marked.
going to see what dealers say when I get time to pop down, both front belts are slow and need a little help from time to time, belts are also marked from being shut in doors.welsh petrol head
Base 5 seat, ex HA with air, terrain, tip tronic and some bling (gone)
D4 Gs 7 seat totally standard for now
Thats a real shame about the door trim Have you had a look at the recall speed of the belt on the otherside to see if it is lazy and if so what chance would you think of getting it changed. Im only wondering as i may complain about the marked door shut on mine as far as i see it is damage caused by the faulty belt. Then again i might not as i get fed up fighting with LR
Anyone got any thoughts as to why my car dumped me at the side of the road then? From about 60mph it lost drive and defaulted to tickover whilst an array of warning lights and messages scrolled across the screen-trans. fault, epb fault, susp fault, etc etc etc. i turned off and removed keys, waited a few seconds , replaced keys and the car was fine and picked back up off the floor as normal. It hasnt done it again and i first thought i might have a brake lamp out but stopped at the next services and all lamps were fine? A couple of days later and the nav screen stuck on the i agree until i had parked the car and left it locked for a couple of hours. I dont know if that is related as it has never done that before either

I didn't check how quick the belt recoils as I have never had a problem. I just assume she twisted it up or something. I'll have a look tomorrow. Global Warming.... I'm luvvin it

Well thats an interesting read thank you. The car has been to the local dealers and they said it was slow to rewind. When prompted the said they are going to speak to LR about it. I shall have a quick look at it myself but it has done this from new. As to the car letting me down at the side of the road they have not seen the list of fault codes before and are going to speak to LR about that as well???? I shall wait for them to call me back. I am sure this was put to me wrong as i cannot think that they dont know what a fault code means?
