My battery just died (it would be a Saturday )
Found a century for $230 od but the +V terminal is too far away from the edge.
Battery world will sell a Federal one for $340 odd, nice but expensive.
NRMA sell ones which are below LR minimum spec.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Looks like I will have to wait till Monday anyway, hope altenator is OK. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Hi Caver,
Marshall: Part Number DIN88
Warranty Period 24 months
Roadside Price $255.00
Apart from them, you might have luck ringing around auto shops tomorrow, or petrol stations today. I've had good luck with Exide (more expensive, but available from garages in emergency) and Supercharge (from local auto store - cheap and seem to last for ages).
Let me know if you need a lift or hand... I have an urge to drive somewhere... anywhere!
Cheers,
Rob

if you can wait till Monday try your local LR dealer.
My battery died 12 mths ago and Austral Motors in Brisbane sold me a replacement battery for only $173.
Even lent me a Jaguar for the day to get the battery home 8) .
Battery is a Varda made in Germany and is the same as the original.
In the meantime you could try using the Optima? dual battery as the cranking battery.

Rob, any idea of the cranking amps and the Aph rating?
That is a good price, aboput the same as the NRMA. Are you sure the ratings were the same.
Varta are usually pricey. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

I just changed mine, $200.30 at the Adelaide dealer. It is a Varta with the LR logo and from memory, 90AH and 950CCA. I found a battery place that can get Varta and he quoted me $450 2013 D4, E-diff, Vision pack

Hi Andrew,
It appears that Marshall may actually use Exide batteries. Here is a link to their specs:
http://www.exide.com.au/products/index.php
Then select any battery and then "View all products & specifications"
They list 740 CCA and 140Ah for the DIN88.
So... either wait until Monday or get one with lower CCA and higher AH!
Cheers,
Rob
Edited: link didn't work

Exide one doesn't look bad.
As you say higher AmpH but lower cranking amps. I like higher AmpH, I think. NRMA ones were only 500 CCA.
Can't see dealer doing better on price. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

This was my post from last October when I flattened my battery. NRMA battery has been quite OK since.
"I inadvertently left my lights on in the Hunter Valley and the LR battery went totally flat. (Wouldn't even open the doors). Rang Land Rover assist and they sent out the NRMA with the recommended replacement.
They replaced the original battery with a high capacity NRMA branded calcium battery.
My car is a July 06 build so I figured that I had over three years of life out of the battery and having totally flattened it the potential for further problems was high.
NRMA battery was A$254 including GST." 2017 Range Rover Sport TDV6 L494 Fuji White

Thanks for the help guys.
Marshalls have just been all fitted. Charging well and interior lights seem brighter. Maybe it has had a cell dropped for a while then collapsed? Showed eight volts after trying to start.
This is where I find the dealer would have done one cheaper. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Killed my second LR battery. Went to Southside (Austral) and they wanted $395 for a new battery. Are they having me on?
What is the wash up? Exide batteries. I am in Brisbane. 06 TDV6 SE with many LR and after-market extras. Used only on weekends and trips out west.

Warning Warning
Have just replaced my battery after 4 years of life on old one
all the on board computers are very sensitive to voltage levels and differentials
I was getting errors on everything - including HDC
many items shut down - eg radio had "low voltage" splashed across the screen - cute
car was very sluggish
The new battery is made by Varta for Landrover
90 Amphr
RC 150 min
950 CCA - note that this used to be 830 or 850 I think
I cannot find this spec in Varta catalog and must be new as it exceeds their top of the range spec
cost A$330 and probably prove to be worth every penny
cost another A$70 to reset all the computers
I would not trust a "joe bloggs" el cheapo min spec - no way- just to save a hundred bucks +======
