Well your profile says D3 so if you could us a bit maybe re info on your D4 that would be really helpful as some of the changes will vary with year (or whether you have the wiring in place or not). Whatever the year it’s an easy mod to do (if you have an IID tool to enable in the CCF), just make sure you buy the right year wheel to start with! I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

hello, you're right my profile says I have a d3 but I also have a d4 and just on this I wanted to install it. At the moment I compared this steering, can you tell me if it is okay. My discovery 4 is from 2014.

It’s important to make sure the wheel you are fitting is from a model year 2010 - 2014 and not from the later 2014+ model that has different software. I can’t tell from the photo what year the wheel you have is from but if you have a photo of the part number that would help..
You also need the clock-spring for the right year with the connector for the heating element, you should check if your car already has the connection in place (usually taped up on the left side of the steering column under the plastic cowl. If you don’t have this you’ll need to run a wire down to the 12v feed in the centre console.
There’s lots of “how to’s” if you do a search on here.. the trickiest part can often be trying to get the airbag to release! I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

thank you very much for the answer, as soon as I get the steering can I send you the part number to see if it is right? Tomorrow I also remove the steering that mounts my discovery 4 to see if it already has the necessary connections

You don’t need to take the steering wheel off to find the connector, just extended the steering column out as far as possible and remove the plastic cowl from underneath. You should be able to find the wire (if it’s there) taped up (possibly under some foam) on the left side (might be the right hand side if you car is LHD) … will ge a black two pin connector.I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... Yes, you now need to check if you have the correct clock spring, at the side of that connector is socket with several cables connected, if there are two vacant pins on it you have the correct clock spring, if not you will need to replace the clock spring, the clock spring carries the power to the internals of the steering wheel. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I can't find any info from those numbers (maybe someone else has access to other systems ?) the only thing I can suggest is connect it up (but don't reinstall the airbag) and try it should only take 20 minutes or so... if it works great, if not then start to troubleshoot...I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!
