Not seen a roof mounted one, but would nene or similar folk not do this.

I have bought from Water Tanks a couple of times for baffled tanks for the back of the van.

I guess it would have to be sized on what ever your rack can hold.

Something like this http://www.water-tanks.net/acatalog/copy_o...0_Ltr.html

Flat and baffled to stop dramatic weight transfer, but would need to be smaller as this one would be 280kg fully loaded. Thats a lot of weight up there Whistle Shocked

I'm sure you could get a 50ltr (kg) somewhere.

Dunc - FWIW you might like to scout round for a water tank like they fit into motorhomes.
I think FIAMMA make a lot of these - some are pretty slim and have internal baffles. ISTR capacities were from 30 or 40l upwards

these folk do a lot of tanks - sorry it's in French but their catalog is great

edit: this was another place I got a tank from

I don't know what capacity you want, but have you considered plastic jerry cans?

Normally, in Oz, we try to keep water containers in the cabin in order to lower the centre of gravity.

Cheers guys,

front runner make one , but wondering what its like. I beleive Frogs Island sell it, but dont know how good it is. Ive looked at a fiamma one, but its bright Blue Shocked . I need something that is designed to fit on a roof rack. Most of the water tank i see on the internet I wouldnt be happy strapping to the roof. all that water would need to be secured extremly well

Ive found these - has anyone got one : http://www.frogsisland4x4.com/index.php?op...emid=10235

I have the FR one . It holds about 40 l . Comes with a bracket that bolts directly onto the RR . I can take some measurements if you like

Just looked at the link you posted - it's the bottom one

Hi Dunc
Have a look a Tek Tanks .com
Custom made tanks...
There are also company who do the "bladder" type of tank that fits inside the car to keep the CofG low.
Just depends how much liquid you want to carry.

Here a lot of folks use a couple of lengths of 150mm dia PVC pipe, attached to each side, capped at the ends and add a tap. Idea

Only used once.

Be aware you have to support all steel rings when filling the tank.
