Might be an appropriate time for a brief musical interlude whilst I gain some perspective on my Landrover destiny

here are some of the technical issues they faced changing the engine
2 Gearbox screws do not open due to corrosion:
-> Vehicle frame at the bottom must be lifted slightly as the
vehicle cab is already on top of the platform.
-> Screws must be opened with difficult access
-> Screws could only be removed with difficulty
-> due to corrosion (pictures
available)
Fixed injector detected on cylinder 3:
-> Injector must be loosened with cleaner
-> Injector must be pulled out with increased force
Converter screws cannot be removed
-> To do this, the right-hand turbocharger and EGR must now be
removed when installed in order to loosen the converter.
Right-hand oil pressure line from the turbocharger must be
replaced as the position has been changed, making
installation more difficult. As the engine mount had to be
removed again

& wait for it the misery didnt end there, the ECB module went on the handbrake too so that was another 2.5k EUR so at least I have almost a completely new car !!
Memo to anybody out there who doesnt want to spend 30k EUR on your D4 within 12 months, sell it now!
Meanwhile, I guess we will be keeping it, pity you can't wind the mileage back to reflect a brand new engine etc
