Smart Key Replacement

Hi

One of my smart keys is a bit temperamental, but I'm reluctant to pay a fortune to a dealer for a replacement.

Timpsons offer a replacement key service, all programmed, for about half the price. Has anyone used them for a replacement smart key? 2014 - D4 2010 HSE Nara Bronze
2012 - FL2 2009 GS Stornoway Grey
2001 - VW Passat Estate Inky Blue
1999 - Ford Mondeo Light Blue
1998 - Rover 25 Red

Hi

Wonder if the autel AP200 could program a new key fob , as I’ve seen new fobs on ebay for around £40 and the Autel is approx £60

Hopefully another D4 owner will be able to confirm that with regards to the Autel as just looked at the costs from timpsons

Fingers crossed it does work and at least then ur have the AP200 for the future

I guess you need to be careful here.

If Landrover have locked down the kvm to prevent new keys bring programmed then it won’t work with autel.

Where as timpsons may clone the original key.

I have successfully used the AP200 to program cheap e-bay sourced keys on a Freelander 2 (08) and a RR Sport (07). I only bought the Disco 4 last Friday so haven’t tried anything like this yet!
