Did it look like this, if so might have been my old D3

I bought a new one for my D4

I bought if from Gordon Lamb Land Rover - 01246 269000

don't know if they have any left, but might be worth trying, they do sell them on eBay but currently do not have any listed.

There is also one of Uncle Rays, security devices on the wheel too.

Above the plastic base their is a piece of nylon (I believe) which has an elasticated opening. This fits over the top of the spare wheel before you winch it back up, so its pretty secure too. It does keep the wheel quite clean, only cleaned the wheel once in 4 years! Also the RLD plate (which was also on my D3, but again under one of these covers) has no sign of rust on it yet.

I would consider the cheaper options as well if all you want is it to look nice:

Possibly:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-universal-33...3a7f548bf4
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4x4-black-spare-...27ef6b5dd0
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Maypole-4x4-Whee...5d5436ba57

With all of them I would consider some sort of what drain hole though.

My D3 went off road a few times with it fitted, no damage whatsoever, did get covered in mud though. If your bouncing the rear end on rocks, probably a good idea to take it off Exclamation

Just had a email from Sturgess LR at Leicester, that they have in stock spare wheel protectors at £69.99, Does this mean that LR is owning up to a problem with stolen spare wheels being stolen Embarassed
