Thanks again 33Lurcher. Does sound like a lasting (I won't say permanent) fix.
What the name and location of your dealer, just in case I need to direct mine to someone that can fix it ?
CheersGary

Thanks for those details, appreciated.
After several months Stop/Start suddenly working this morning ! Engine temp guage was still on bottom thick line and it was 12 degrees outside temp.
I did two 120 mile round trips over the weekend which is the only thing I can think might cause it to restart. Funny because I had recharged both batteries to 100% using my CTEK a week or so ago but that didn't kick start it. Perhaps it's the combination of doing both.
Will see how we go over next period. Not taking it off my list of fix items when it goes in in May just yet.
CheersGary

Stop/Start not worked at all today , no big surprise , by the way the outside temp reading was always 4c over as highlighted previously in several threads about this issue .
Its now reading more or less spot on with the temp on my iPhone , maybe the gateway download had sorted that .
Just got mine back from the dealers yesterday. they reckon it is now working after the software update. will find out today when I take it out fingers crossed

Mines currently in at the dealers for other work but I asked them to check the SS, they've just rung me and told me the battery needs changing and it's not covered by the warranty - those of you who have had replacement batteries were you charged for them?

Mine was replaced under warranty the car at around 12 months old.
No mention of payment.
I will try to establish the exact date when I look at my emails later.

Found the dates and main battery was replaced in June 2017 which means it was by then 11 months old.
Certainly no mention of paying for it and this was an instant cure to the stop/start problem which had been under investigation for weeks.
Since then it has been fine other than when excessive use of interior lights took a day of use to recover its operation again.

The new battery fitted when the vehicle was serviced was at no cost to me. The warranty I have now is the Approved Land Rover warranty for 2 years but when I bought the vehicle the original manufacturers warranty still had 2 weeks to run. I can only assume the battery was covered under the warranty.
