Stornoway TDV6 D3 SE
Been about 3 1/2 years since i moved up from a TDI D1 to my D3, bought it as a stock 1 owner low mileage never been offroad vehicle.
First addition was to replace all interior globes with LED's, all still working without issue.
Next was to replace the highway tyres with AT's to better suit the terrain i usually drive in, had muds before but AT's are better for daily use.
Search was on for a used ARB bullbar but as they dont come up very often i fitted an Aussie made Airflow snorkel to help reduce dust ingress into the filter.
A drawer system was planned so i needed a cargo barrier to keep stuff where it belongs in the boot, found one cheap on Gumtree. Also got a bullbar but i had to wait 3 months for ARB to make the fitting kit, that gave me time to spray the bar in 2pac stornoway to match the car.
Also fitted a traxide dual battery controller and an 85ah AGM in the aux space on the driver side and ran cable down to the cargo area RH side where i fitted 1 merit and 1 12v socket.
Fitted my remote head UHF radio and a 7"android head unit in the dash with reversing camera, wifi, bluetooth, dash cam and USB sockets.
Once bar was fitted i re-used my old IPF HID spotlights, fitted a 12k pound winch and mounted the UHF ariel.
Got a 1.8x1.2m roof rack off ebay and made some mounts to fit the factory short rails, i now have full length rails so will be making a new rack to suit.
Fitted a 2.5x2.5m awning to the LH side , car was mostly unchanged last year due to covid but picked up a Llams suspension controller just before xmas.
Next up will be to paint a spare set of 18's black and go up from 265/60 to 265/65's.

A few other upgrades i made along the way, put a panel with 2x12V and a double USB socket at the back of the center console and replaced the factory detachable tow plow with a better high mount hitch which better suits my camper trailer. Just after i fitted the android stereo i bought the steering wheel audio switches and mapped them to the stereo, phone connection works well with bluetooth.

One of my to do jobs was to mount a 2nd eas tank on the drivers side and mount an air compressor in the car somewhere, i removed the tow hitch foam and bracket from the rear LH compartment and made brackets to mount a TJM compressor.
Tank was easy to fit once i welded a new bracket on one end and used a couple of existing chassis holes, ordered some air line and fittings so will run them once they arrive.
Got the tank for $20 at a DIY wreckers also picked up a couple of air vents that were broken and a passenger vent with cup holder.

Built a steel framed storage unit with fridge slide, will have a tray on slides on the left and shelves at the rear for water and other gear storage. Still need to paint and carpet the top.
Tested it on a mid winter camping trip.

Camping fitout pretty much done and just added led's for kitchen and fridge lighting, the flip over table was too long to clear the tailgate so added a hinge to the center and reinforced it with aluminium angle.

Knocked up a couple of light brackets from gal steel strap, the 42" light bar is a good fit for the rack and doesn't create any extra wind noise.

Bought a 17ft caravan just before Easter so set about building a pulse buster for the LED lights on the van and fitted an electric brake controller, this meant making a switch panel to relocate my Llams suspension dial to the new panel and mount the brake controller adjustment dial in its place.

Fiitted some Falken Wilpeak AT3W tyres in 265/65/18 and re-calibrated the speedo using my GAP tool. Rebuilt my EAS compressor about 2 years ago after fitting a used one as a short time fix but came time to put it back in, also fitted a compressor guard.
