Post some photos of your camper trailer set up. I'm curious to see what you are towing.

Hi Loanrangie
Nice looking caravan.
In Australia is the 7 pin flat trailer connector the common plug? (7 pin flat is what we use in New Zealand)
My Disco3 has the 13 pin round socket on the back of the car which I have an adapter to take it down to flat 7 pin.
I'm just re-wiring a trailer plug for a recently brought caravan. With your set up does the car supply 12 volts to e.g. the caravan fridge, and charge the caravan battery, when the engine is running using a live feed? Is the Disco alternator up to it? Or are you relying on a solar panel on the caravan roof and with a 3 way fridge (12v, LPG, 240 v) - are you off grid caravanning?
cheers
Blake

7 pin round was the old style and now 7 or 12 pin flat are more common, i removed the white plug and fitted an anderson plug to the wiring which i can connect the van too.
I also have 2 x 195w solar panels on the van and 2x100ah AGM batteries.

Was having shift issues with the gearbox so i rebuilt the valve body with new solenoids and a sonnax zip kit and separator plate.
Drives like a new car now, towed the caravan away for a 4 day long weekend camping and it towed like a dream.
