suspension fault intermittent over 40mph red light on
hi guys my first topic i dont normally need to post as all the info is here as a rule
ok i changed the upper front wishbones two days ago, by just wheel off, disconnecting the ball joint, link nut, height sensor slipped off its pin, brake pipe, undone bolts etc easy enough to do,
now when driving over 40mph the red suspension light comes on and warning comes up to slow down and it will go to the bump stops i can stop turn off it reset and carry on, if i stay under 35 it doesnt happen at all so far ,
am i correct in saying i need to re cal the suspension to fix this? time to buy a tool ?
thanks guys ive been reading the net for days and it so frustrating

I think you have to recalibrate the suspension if you remove the sensor but having not done this myself I'll leave it to the experts who im sure will respond to you in due course good luck 1996 Defender -died (now in landrover heaven😇)chassis to ashes , rust to dust !

What you really need is the 4x4 display enabling on your lcd.
And see if that wheel is bouncing rediciously.
A cal sounds a good bet. Or damaged wire
You can cal with an autel ap200 white version.
About £45
Direct from autel

Thanks guys . I do have the am200 arriving today I had no idea it could do the calibration.
I've a naoncom from my old 2 and was thinking of updating for the tune of 430 pounds
Which I was on the fence about.

yes i think the gap looks to be the better unit from my reading ,
just been out in it and it did it at 35 mph ish so the mph isnt set for sure it just seems radom now and never under 30mph , the 4x4 display seems to be fine in normal use ,
apart from when it did drop there has been a osf red block when it was sat on bump stops yesterday and today it did the same and i pulled over before it dropped , i looked at the 4x4 display and a nsr red block was showing ,
does that mean anything?
any one know where the odb2 socket is? ive looked all under the steering wheel and dont see it
thanks for your time

Red block when it’s lowered is not an issue.
If it happens before it’s lowered, that is a concern

Read the codes before trying to calibrate.
Will probably tell you which corner at fault.

ok i read the codes it had loads mostly historic so i cleared them and went for a drive until i had the red suss warning light on and it lowered
the am200 seems good for reading the codes but i don't see how it can calibrate the suspension it says it does but it doesn't seem to do a thing just gives you text info and stops there has anyone actually calibrated the suspension with a am200 for real? ,
the reviews in google play are terrible lol pretty much saying it says it does things and then dont
can some one cast a eye on the codes please there is two i see as the issue what do u think ? and how to proceed please , im a retired mechanic landrovers was my thing before they got so electric , give me a series 4 speed or lt77 5 speed gearbox to build no issues , but this d3 ... is a diff beast
im getting it slowly , many thanks for your time

ok on searching that code C1A07-62 and reading the threads, it seems it very likely its the ride height thats off as its after ive changed the upper wishbones , i did them with the chassis on axle stands and hubs dangling i never let air out or anything like that did i need to ? i held the wishbones horizontal did the bolts back up popped the sensors back on does that sound ok? or should i of followed a set routine ?
do i need to revisit the wishbone install or just get it calibrated?
ive had this truck 2 years now and i love it and i hate it! im to scared to have the radio on cos i listen to it ! its affecting my mental state i think, ive snapped at the wife for talking to much while im listening! sigh.
ive a bit of a bearing drone when it corners but there no play in the wheel, ive been chasing a clonk up front ...... well u all know what its like im not the only one.
so for the life of me the am tool wont go past the text screen for suss calibration telling you not to work under the car blah blah any one got one that can tell me how to proceed? it lets me highlight the values but nothing else it doesnt do anything more that
my head feels full with all this i need to stop thinking about it im going to turn this off and have a smoke and have another go tomorrow if anyone can help please feel free to chip in ,
here the ride hight read out anyone spot the issue?
