Sorry Solar, will not be able to make lunch. Exco meeting followed by interviews should keep me fully occupied on Wednesday.

3) Nico-G4, DiscoJaques and Frans@yamorna: Will be delivered to Nico-G4 on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon.
4) Solar: Will be dropped of a your offices on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon.
PM sent to all with costs and my banking details. Please do not make payment before you have received the J-Rods.
Please follow the installation instructions on J-Rods website.
I played with my J-Rods installed in the Olifants river today. D3 went into what it thought was extended mode (with J-Rods super extended) without any issues.... except that I was stuck. But then again that is why I play in the river.

Yip, not so "Speedy", went from Cape Town to Vlaeberg PO ... and the slip only arrived on Friday pm. But it is here!!
And I can live with the height, permanently I think, but I am checking it out first for a few days.
It was stable at speed on highway today. Have to look at alignment etc etc, Will have to check the advice of Koos, Heine an others again and make the decision.
The BFG's are looking good and rubbing may be less (hopefully) bottoming out when at speed on gravel. "None of Nature's landscapes are ugly so long as they are wild"

Morning all
For those that have fitted the Johnson Rods - I was interested to know how happy you have been with your purchase and whether anyone has left them in permanently - has this adversely affected handling on-road or general tyre wear? I assume one would have the wheel alignment checked after fitting....
I have ordered a set and will probably only use them off-road as I am concerned about additional stresses on CV joints - I have had a side shaft dislodge from it's CV in the past and do not want a repeat of this. Is this a valid concern when deciding to leave them fitted?
Cheers

I would imagine your concern would be valid if you select off-road mode with the rods installed, for , that will almost be extended mode. For the rest the handling is good up to 120kph. I would install when leaving for the bush. So easy to install 15 mins tops. White MY2011 SDV6 HSE

I have installed the rods permanently. I had a complete re-alignment done to ensure the new cambers do not effect tire wear and more. Even when driving at speeds above 120kmh the new height makes very little difference in handling, although an effect can be felt with the roofrack fully laden.
I have not had any problems over several months and about 3000km+ travelled.
Sean, what caused your side shaft to dislodge? "None of Nature's landscapes are ugly so long as they are wild"

I have now done around 5000km with the Rods installed. No signs of abnormal tire wear. No issues with handling, but then I seldom drive faster than 120km/hour. I am contemplating leaving the J-rods in permanently and only replace with the standard rods when the D3 goes for a service.
