Tailgate door lock failure - Big Thankyou to dealers Austral |
|
Hi Gang
Went to the post office yesterday and couldn't get the tailgate open.. seems the door lock had a broken cable. Making the usual ooise.. but not releasing. Took it straight to Austral.. they were fabulous. Lent me a Freelander 2.. (very nice) and delivered the D3 back to my home last night with a new lock motor fitted.
Fabulous service.. very happy.

Austral. I'm glad they have helped someone. Currently having problems with Austral VW. 06 TDV6 SE with many LR and after-market extras. Used only on weekends and trips out west.

Austral are pretty good, have looked after me pretty well, always courtious and deal with any problems.... eventually. Can't blame them for parts transit times I guess.
That Freelander you had - was it black??

Made the mistake of buying a Disco from Austral.
The service was so bad that even with Land Rover Australia's intervention could get that pack of thieves to carry out warranty work on a brand new vehicle.
If they were the only landy dealer left, I’d buy a toyota before I dealt with them again. 2008 TDV8 RR Lux + 2009 D4 2.7

I purchased my previous 2 discos (as did my brother-in-law - 2 discos) and the only time it was a pleasant experience was the sale. After that, all downhill. I am not talking about 1 vehicle but 4.
This D3 is from Southside (same company) and the service is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO different. Even my brother-in-law purchased another disco (from Southside) after my comments and commented on the service difference. He was never going to buy another disco after his previous experiences. I was living at Yeppoon (700 kms one way trip to visit) and they really tried to make the visits productive. Some issues have not been resolved (Southside - LRA to sort out) but they are up front so I know where things stand.
This is our experience, others may have had better luck. 06 TDV6 SE with many LR and after-market extras. Used only on weekends and trips out west.

Well.. going back to my original post...
The loaner was A Freelander 2.. Red petrol model.
Australs have always fallen over themselves to help me out.
Now I must tell you that I was in the motor trade for over 20 years and saw a lot of crap going on. From motorist to tradesman and back the other way.
I am always very polite when I go to Australs, never get upset (after all the service guys didn't make the car) and I always get very polite service in return. And they always try very hard to minimise the time they have the car.
As the Yanks say, YMMV.
At this pont I intend to change the vehicle at 3 years, and if the deal is right, then Australs will get the next sale.
Cheers

That is the way I play it also.
I wouldn't say that I never get upset though - I just haven't had to yet.
The Freelander I had was a nice looking black Td4, bit different to the D3 V8 - I nearly killed myself pulling into traffic a couple of times!! Sure takes a while for that little turbo to spool up!!
Good on you Mark, very politically correct post, careful to defend your view but not in a way that is likely upset those of an opposing view, you should be a diplomat of ambassador. haha 05 V8 SE Java Black 19's and Sunroof
