"...a setting you cannot achieve anyother way..."
Well actually you can.
Use the height selector switch to raise (or lower) the vehicle whilst your foot is on the brake; several times my D3 has gone into 'Extended mode'.
I trust that I am not the only one to experience this. LeighW

I dont think it should do, mine has never done it but usually im usually looking at the terrain and not the dash when i raise the suspension so may have missed it. Andrew

I have only noted it a couple of times because 'she who it is best to obey' requires Access Mode when getting in or out. She won't get out if she can't reach the ground...
As I said, it has happened when the foot is on the brake and the change in height has been initiated. Surely another user has come across it? I can't be imagining it, I don't think. 🙄 LeighW

Everyone is talking about increased clearance but that guide says increased articulation, which obviously isn't the same thing and, according to many, those two things may be inversely related.

I beleive it puts it in extended mode because with your foot on the brake it will not roll a little when raising up and down due to the angle of the air bag changing slightly on the suspension. With your foot on the brake it will not roll giving the illusion of something under the vehicle stopping it lowering and it then puts it into extended mode for safetly thinking there is an unseen onstruction under the car
you can do the same with trucks however older ones do not have any cleaver cpus and will just keep releasing air in the suspension until the vehicle is a ride height, if you hold your foot on the brake for abit then release it the truck drops like a stone Discovery 3 - Black SE with HSE upgrade

i think when it says articulation it softens the suspension and allows each wheel to move further up or down compared to the other on the axle ( i know its not an axle but couldnt think of another word ) without trying to equalising the suspension across the axles, this means you can keep 4 wheels on the floor for longer rather then the vehicle lifting a wheel into the air and loosing traction and drive Discovery 3 - Black SE with HSE upgrade
