Timed climate GSM Dialler operation
While putting a second battery in the rear of the D4 i fitted a GSM dialler in there at the same time . Very easy mod ..
This basically allows me to ring the car and switch on the heater / vent ( outside temperature dependant to wether it switches on heat ...or vents the car )
Get yourself a T91 remote

Take it apart ..everything just clips off

solder a couple of wires to the ON button . I removed the button completly , but found afterwards that the button actually makes a connection for the off button aswell ...so dont remove the button ( its only needed for pairing ...so if you pair it first ..then the button becomes useless afterwards )
I used a Quantek telcon 500 gsm unit ...bargain price of £69 off the bay of E. Its just the dialler ...it dosent send any text back ..but i dont need that .

And if you want to be realy geeky ...there is an app called "app for that " which allowes you to add your own picture , select any part of the picture ( the on button in this case ) and then link that to a text /phone number etc.

So ..best of both worlds ...i have the remote on my key ring for general use ...or i can dial it to switch on the heating / venting from any were i want .G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Stupid question time
1] Does this system give me the same [or better] operation I had with the 'dial to open' system I had on my D3?
2] Assuming the GSM dialler takes a sim card, if it's a 'pay as you go' and the unit doesn't send back ant texts, what's to stop the service provider from deleting the sim card after 6 months [as by their records it won't have shown any use]???
3] Do you offer the complete install service?
...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

1, better ... As it actually turns on the heater / vent in the car
2, I have worded it wrong ... It does send text's back ... You can't send a text to it to make it work ( just ring it )
3, no .. But very easy to doG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hi,
I understand this mod is also available on the RRS MY10. Not sure I want to do the work myself, although can anyone recommend someone who can retro fitting Park Heat and SMS activation?
