Thanks for the advice. Compressor runs for about 5 mins not timed exactly
The strange thing is once I clear the warning the system works fine while stationary but as soon as I drive it come back again even though I’m not asking for a height adjustment.Dorian Woolger

I replaced the end cap on my Disco this week, now it goes up and down as expected.
One thing I found though, that I also reset the height settings once done.
Once this was done you could see once the car was in off road height the compressor turned off straight away.
Before it was still trying to do stuff and not liking it.
I will have a look what the settings were when I get the Snap On Diag tool back again, as I can't remember now.MY15 BMW 5 Series Touring

Hi gstuart, if the vehicle drops overnight, what would you say the fault was.

It will be a leak somewhere.
Could be a single strut, front or rear valve or pipework.
Best thing to do is set to normal height, pull the fuse and then see if one corner has dropped. The car will try to self level all the time, so if one corners is leaking the whole car will drop to keep it levelled.
Pulling the fuse stops this and you will see where your problem is.MY15 BMW 5 Series Touring

Wanted to ensure there wasn’t a drop so that if he fitted a new compressor it didn’t burn that one out

Indeed, I should have worded it better
I had fun with mine, found it would only drop in off road height , was a leaking front strut
Mine had been seriously neglected and was a right nightmare as I found leaks on valve blocks, fittings, air tank etc
Ended up having to vacuum test each individual line

Mine does not drop at all. How long should compressor run for?
Also how do you remove the air pipes from the AMK compressor? Want to check the inlet hose is not blocked somewhere.Dorian Woolger

Hiya
Should only run for a few minutes if that , then once it reaches pressure ur hear the hiss
Looks like u have a voss connector , just undo the fitting with a spanner whilst holding the black pipe from turning
If there’s any pushfit , u push the small outer collar in whilst gently pulling on the pipe

Well new compressor turned up today so going to make use of the dry weather tomorrow to swap it out.
The eBay link is the one I purchased and its defiantly a clone, not a proper AMK but will see if that does the job and look to refurb the original.
I need the car as my daily runner so £165 even if its a temp replacement is better than no car while I return the original.
Obviously if the same fault comes back, I will need to scratch my head a bit more.

Tried that in extended mode, and it didn't drop at all. But drops overnight in normal height with fuses re fitted.

Indeed is normally always a good practice to replace the relay that comes with the new compressor , maybe they supply one as a matter of course seeing they can wear out

Well that was one of the easier jobs I've done
New compressor fitted
Before removal of the old one, I did go over all the pipes and check for leaks but found none.
After fitting I did notice that the new compressor did increaser the pressure much quicker so lets see how it goes.Dorian Woolger
