rear wiper speed

is it just mine, or is the rear wiper speed (how fast it moves) slow. Compared with last D3, I'd say half to 2/3rds the speed.

So, another retrograde feature - which muppet at LR comes up with this stuff - make a really good car, enhanced over the last model, but instead of keeping the stuff that was good/worked efficiently, we'll change it. - idiots!

No doubt some bean-counter worked out they could save a couple of quid a year by using an alternative motor for the rear wiper Rolling Eyes ......

I can control the speed at which mine sweeps from the RH stalk

Slower or faster depending on which way you swizzle the rotary dial

Chalky - is that so, we mean the actual sweep speed, not the frequency of sweep

Didn't think you could change anything regarding the rear wiper, on/off at one set speed only. The intermittent control on the left stalk is for the front wiper sensitivity I thought Question

On cars with auto wipers... that's true. On cars without auto wipers, the the left stalk control is for the sweep frequency when in intermittent mode and affects both front and rear wipers.

I agree much slower than on my D3, but I don't get half as much spray on the D4 rear window. Maybe the D4 mud flaps do work!

this to me is poetic justice...the back to the future modification...
...one would have thought it would have cost more to LR to change it & have to provide different spares to the dealers.
 BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Holy thread resurrection Shocked

I have the answer to all slow rear wiper ills 8) Wink

Quote:

Land Rover have received a small number of Customer complaints that the Rear Wiper Motor on Range Rover Sport 12 MY (Part No. LR029777) and Discovery 4 /LR4 12MY (LR029682) is slow to operate compared to previous Model year derivatives

The Rear Wiper Motors were changed to a different supplier at 12MY for Range Rover Sport and Discovery 4 /LR4, the operating speed was changed at this time, this does not affect the Wipers performance. The cycles per minute have changed from 40+-5 Cycles Per Minute to 30+- 4 CPM with no detriment to performance This is not a vehicle defect and parts replacement is not required.
