Only problem I can see here Steve is that any Mods/upgrades you do to yours will now cost you double as SWMBO will want one too!
Can't wait for the photos though!

So, I picked up my new D4 at around 1830 today. First impressions ? Well Im disappointed that the fridge I thought I'd ordered wasn't there. Turns out both myself and Paul at the dealers had missed it when doing the order so that'll be down to me. Not a major problem, I can always speak to TLO and order one to retrofit later.
Onto the MY14 Discovery then. Couple of extra buttons on the dash. The hard camera button for the fronts is a nice touch. Much better angle than my previous D4. Not a substitute for using a mark one eyeball of course but for the sneaky peaky, cars parked right up to the junction scenario, I think they could be handy.
Eco Start/Stop - not sure what all the fuss is about at the minute. So far, I have found it so unobtrusive that I've had to check the rev counter to make sure it was working. Marks so far for this system? ... Pretty good.
The closing traffic warnings in the mirrors work well and are very noticeable in operation. Also when I reversed off my drive earlier, the rear detection system was excellent. Very conspicuous and could save damage if the driver is being less than observant.
Driving the car itself it seems to be smoother and there doesn't appear to be the dreaded hesitation at roundabouts that has been long discussed on here. If anything it feels more taught and poised like the dampers and suspension parts have been tweaked, or at least set for a firmer, more assured ride with noticeably less body roll than before. I know I've just got into a new car but my MY13 Ive just traded in wasn't old or had heavy mileage. The MY14 just feels like an overall improvement. Inputting info into the satnav is now very quick too. A big improvement over recent years.
Bad points? I agree, if you turn of the Stop/Start system the orange warning light glares at you in an almost confrontational way! Personally, I like the system but I can see how people who don't are so irritated by the intrusive warning light.
So, so far, I think it is a better car with some thoughtful updates. It is just a facelift but in my humble opinion, it is a step forward. Well done Land Rover! Excellent effort.

Great write up Steve!
Hope it's a nice day for you tomorrow and over the weekend, then you will get a full benefit of the stunning colour!
It would be great to see some pics at some point too, interesting to see what that colour combo looks like on a a Disco.
RE Stop/Start, have it in my RRS and, as you said, it's hardly noticeable and very smooth. Don't see what the fuss is about tbh. Arrived: 2014.5 Range Rover Sport HSE SDV6 in Loire Blue, Ivory interior, piano black trim, privacy glass, panoramic sunroof, tow bar, mudflaps and full size spare 8)

Thanks Chris I will get some pics done tomorrow if it's nice. By the time I got to drive away from the dealers it was getting dark! Also, I did go through the ford to play with the Wade Sensor. It's effective, a bit of a gadget but another tool that can help out if needed. Some excellent advice on the start screen regarding wading etc too! Another nice touch
