Hello again everyone I'm on the scrounge for information
What information (if any) can you get from an engine number, the reason I ask is I'm trying to age a second hand I've aquired.

If it's any help, my D3 was built in March 2006 (registered in May 2006)
The engine No is ******4276DT (incomplete for obvious reasons) but should be enough to go on
I think production numbers were at the 50-60k units each year Never get mad - get even !!
06 D3 now gone to family member and still going strong at 265k
previous vehicles:
04 D2 TD5 - (clocked 189k from new)
52 X-Trail 2.2 SVE
various euro boxes !

I think the last part is the engine type.
The seven digit number on my present one starts 0151###
Whereas the "new" engine starts 0440### so I'm kinda guessing/ hoping thats the numerical order therefore making it 288,000 later???????
There is another number next to the ELD11 it's 190210

That doesn't seem to tally, mine starts 0090*******DT, and it's a 2006 MY, using your assumption, it would be the 90 millionth+ engine
I think the number is a numerical 'code' ?
The DT referring to Diesel Turbo (guessing, but seems plausible) Never get mad - get even !!
