Are there any visual clues between euro 3 and euro 4 engine?

As the title says really, I've done a little digging but come up blank, greatful for any help.

As a complete engine, or a stripped engine?

If complete, the HPFP and fuel pipes are different, as is the wiring loom, coolant system, CCV breather etc.

As above then

Fuel pipes ob an EU3 engine are all the same size, EU4 are different sizes
EU4 has rail pressure sensor on the L/H front fuel rail. EU3 is on the divertor rail behind the HPFP
Coolant pipe over the top of the engine is silver on EU3, EU4 is black

Good news, my "new" engine has the fuel pressure sensor on the L/H rail, so perhaps he was telling the truth. Going to have a look at the oil pump when I do the timing belt to see if it's the modified one with the extra webbing on the tensioner boss, if not it's getting changed too!

Your profile says 06MY, which is EU3 Question

Which would mean your "new" engine is wrong. It will still physically fit, and work, but everything will need to be swapped from your old engine Thumbs Up

Yeah the "new" engine is an EU4 so the bloke told me but I'd only got his word for that. I intend on swapping everything over and just using the bare engine, although I might find out if the injectors are the same Wink

If its an EU4 engine, I would be replacing the oil pump, regardless
