Thanks for the heads up Keith,
Not sure my current motor (Passat) would cope to well. But one for the future.

So i was wondering if anyone would be interested in joining me/ showing me the ropes of Wagtail.
I have finally got myself a D3 and want to play in it.
I was thinking Thursday 2nd January if anyone was free.
Like i said a complete newbie and only on Michelin Latitude Tours, so boots could be an issue.
Just an idea.
Happy Christmas all.

Si, Happy to pop along with you at some stage but got busy time until 3rd week Jan.
Knowing the Wagtail site, I would reckon approx 50% would be unusable at this time of the year due to sodden grounds - not so much the vehicle but Charlie (the owner) tries to protect the land as much as poss.
Given your current rubber, you really would be limited to about 10-20% of the play area at this time of year. Up to you of course but I would recommend a rubber change or delay the visit until the Spring.
There are a few light lanes around (eg. Aston Cantlow) that may scratch the itch until you can unleash the beast fully
Hope you find this helpful

cheers Sweaty,
possibly as i thought
will probably be best to leave it until the spring then. Cant really warrant some new rubber right now.
Hmm interesting about Aston Cantlow, can you provide more details please.
many thanks
Si

Good call.
Re Aston Cantlow. Have a look at an OS map of the area (easier than me trying to describe) in Aston Cantlow and Great Alne.
If you cannot find them, pop me a PM and I will try to help

There is a really good ford there too, not super deep but nice and long with a soid bottom (that's what she said!!). The ford up at Little Lawford is a good one too which is through the river Avon.
I'd be up for coming to the site if you arrange a day for people to go.
Also would be interested to know if there's some lanes I've missed round there.
SWR I'd be happy to meet up one Sunday soon to take you round the ones I know round that area
Cheers,
Simon.

I have been to Wagtail a number of times and there are areas for all abilities, the only downside if it's busy , so myself and a small group hire it for the entire weekend to ourselves.
We've got it booked for the last weekend in March.
Let me know if you are interested in joining us for the weekend or day , there will be a small number of off road instructors there and I'm sure anyone needing a few tips etc can be helped.

Hello Si ,
Should be ok, I'll keep a list of people that I need to PM with details before, obviously we are only a small group so have to charge everyone the normal pay & play fee of between £20-£25 a day or £50 for camping and play all weekend , the fees will be known better once we have numbers nearer the date , Mark
