LR3 vs V8 better for overland
Hi
I am thinking to buy a lr3, i know the V8 has more power than v6, my question is...i live i canada
everything is ford, if i need any part i can find in the next morning because is a ford ranger engine,
but if a i have a v8..is more complicated.
And the prices are more cheap...is this a good ideia? buy a v6 instead a v8, in my country allmost are cars are ford, if somethings goes wrong with my car i can find parts in the same day and maybe cheaper because is a ford engine...and ford ranger you see one in each corner of the streets.
what is your opinion?
thanks

V6 = petrol, as opposed to TDV6.

Hi
I am looking for a LR3 year 2006 V6 Petrol, there are some many ford rangers with the same engine in canada i think maybe is more easy to repair and find parts and more cheaper.
Yeah, the V6 petrol was never sold in the UK and the V8 relatively rare. Fuel v costly here... No idea whether the V6 petrol parts availability is an issue compared to the V8 petrol, but those who have the V8 seem to be very happy with the reliability. And performance. And noise.____

Even better, become a member as there is a tonne of good knowledge (in conjunction with DISCO3.CO.UK) about the marque to be found here.

I have a D3 V8 and couldn't envision anything with less power - V6. I have test driven the D4 V8 and came away feeling like the D3 V8 is underpowered. Depending on your use requirements I would go with a V8 over V6 every time.16 D4 Landmark

I'd go with the V8 hands down. Its a fantastic Jag engine and very reliable. I'm not sure the majority of any repair spend will be associated with the engine as much as the other components anyways. I understand there is negligible MPG benefit to the V6 and you will be happier with the 300bhp with such a heavy vehicle. Besides, parts will be easily available in TO. Stewart
