Have you actually got a delivery date from your dealer or is this when you are hoping for delivery?
I ordered my Commercial about 10 days ago (Firenze Red) and they were suggesting that the post-production line conversion to Commercial could take anything up to 12 weeks depending on where they are on the production cycle. Additionally, they couldn't give me a firm date for the factory build date as the factory wasn't yet open for orders.
My old Commercial is due to go back in mid-Feb but i have asked for the new one to be here for 1st March so that I have it on the new reg and we will extend the lease on the old one when we have an absolute date for the new vehicle.
Will compare notes on delivery promises in due course...D4 Commercial - 65 Plate, 2016MY

Hi, I ordered mine in mid-July and have been told that it will be ready at the end of this month, so about 3.5 months total (which has seemed like 35 months!!)
Good discounts out there if you haggle hard!

I have specifically asked for a 14plate and will be with me for the 1 March.
20red: I always get good deals on my commercials, we run four at the moment. I would never buy from a dealership! Think my new 14MY was £34,075 including various options.2012 Mercedes E250 Coupe AMG

Bit naive here maybe, but where do you source your commercials?
Mine is only a year old but will have to go in the end!

I am really thinking about chopping in my defender for a d4 commercial is that £34000 plus vat?? The new d4 looks very tempting lots of kit and 32-36 mpg seems too good to be true.

Yep - £34k plus VAT but less depending on how well or hard you can haggle.
Delivery times are shocking - typically 5-6 months but they are a superb bit of kit! Way, way different to a Defender as they will tow all day long and then still take Cinders to the Ball in the evening.
Good luck in the hunt - worth it once you get it under way and all I have had to factor in is the time to change when looking at the replacement (which is due in March / April)D4 Commercial - 65 Plate, 2016MY

Yeah I had a disco 3 a few years back and they towed great. So the extra power should make it very good. They are a lot more money than a defender. NFU membership means another 3% off.

I tried a few dealers and found rossleigh the cheapest main dealer by far, and their salesman spoke to me like a customer! they are part of the pendragon group so have huge buying power.

D4 Commercial my14
Hi all, just picked up my new machine last week and am having some great fun in it. Took 6 months from order though which seemed to take an age. I'm new to the forum so thought I'd introduce myself.

A couple of pics here. Love everything about it, apart from the Discovery badging. Thinking of changing it back to how it should be.

Is the boot side window bigger? I thought on the earlier D4's it has a lot more of the corner cut off?2009 Discovery 3 HSE - Gone
