The Chery Skin ...Chery have just joined JLR in China so maybe Disocvery will end up as the "4x4 Skin" 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
& should have been done long ago...
The FFR isn't a FFRR 1 / 2 / 3
& neither is the RRS
taking the Disco1/2/3/4 number away eliminates the issue of being outmoded by a number...
D3's became old hat when supposedly the D4 came along & must have reduced the values & perspectives of 2nd hand buyers.
you now have the DISCOVERY...what differentiates it is quite rightly the year / VRN plate
equally when jaguar made lots of changes to the XF...it didn't become an XF 2
VW golfs..are distinguished by the Mk number
the list goes onBREXIT - done properly.

D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Jury still out on this one for me. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

It's a no from me, for now anyway. I much prefer the Land Rover wording.
I'm sure it will be here to stay and well all come to accept it in time, but not an improvement in my mind.

Wouldn't it be easier to remove the Land Rover badges off a Range Rover?

Just a step to the day when the words "Land Rover" will only appear on mugs, boots, bicycles and stuff like that.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

I dont like it now but will probably think its great in the future
with DISCOVERY, Range Rover, DEFENDER....etc on the variants
we all know the brand wher the green oval will still be used in a small badge distinctive badge...at the front, on the steering wheel boss, on the each of the doors, at the tailgate ....how many LandRover badges do you need ?
with the corporate front end that all models will share, only subtle & size differences the DISCOVERY wording is (going to be) sort of essential......maybe it should be miror imaged for those in front to read in thier mirror
....you can bet your boots the first thing thats changed on any model (on a mid term face lift) is the rear light cluster arrangement...over the years & variiopus Discovery variants thay have fiddled & diddled with the whole back end light thing to distraction
whilst its still possible & you are able to get LAND ROVER, DISCOVERY, RANGE ROVER as individual letters.....how many other words can be written (politely....that is) we all know you can get RANDY LOVER...but what else is there ?
I think SCOOBY on Subaru's is brilliant....BREXIT - done properly.

Just a thought, what will this be called in NAS? As the Americans didn't like the name Discovery and used LR3/LR4 instead 15.5MY XS in Corris Grey with Black & Almond leather

I read somewhere that in the U.S. market, it will still have "Land Rover" on the bonnet.
