Yes, I asked a local Motor Factors to make me up a plate for my girlfriend's RR with the prefix letter moved away from the numbers and the numbers moved closer to the suffix letters but still with a gap. They said the only way they would be prepared to do that would be to make it up as a 'show' plate, and then they wouldn't put their name and postcode on, so it wouldn't be road-legal. Doesn't seem to stop thousands of people from doing it and the plod never seem to do anything about it.
They should have the name and postcode of the number plate supplier (normally dealer or Halfords or similar), from some places this is just embossed and not obvious unless you look at it up close.
Personally I think DVLA/Plod care more about the numbers being the right size, alignment and font than a tiny bit of text at the bottom being entirely legal, that's what I'm hoping anyway.... The End

That is true to a degree ...as long as the plate has been made up by a DVLA registered outlet and the plates carry their name and postcode...you have to show them all of your documents first though 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Before any plate can be made up...you need the documents to go with it regardless where it is for 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Not if you have them made up by the raft of internet companies who'll do it for you - most based in Ireland I believeSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

My point is that the clampdown that this STUPID government put in place that irritates and costs all of us law abiding citizens is actually completely futile - like most of Mr Bliar's cr*pSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Actually it is to try and protect you and stop bods cloning your plate and then building up speeding fines or ram raiding your local bank machine with your number plate on ...didn't you watch 'Traffic Cops" last night.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
I'd have to agree with you there. It joins a long list of outlawed practices like using a mobile phone while driving and having your windows blacked out ahead of the 'B' pillar, that the plod have no real chance of policing.

Most I would have thought are a bit distinctive and get about a bit too much as well and could easily pop up anywhere
ARe personl aplates less liely to get cloned than normal plates or more likely? (thinking out loud there)end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......
