They are prob too busy making FFRRs & RRSs on the T5 line. D4s (or whatever they are now called) will be well down the pecking order of priorities.
Allegedly.

So when did you order yours then?
There was a bit of a kerfuffle with getting prices together for the 14MY as LR normally update prices and spec in July but this slipped to Sept this year which seems to have caused some delays in getting orders into the system.
My Commercial was ordered 10th Oct and is on line to be delivered 1st March (all things being equal) so would have thought yours should be somewhere close.
What does your dealer say?D4 Commercial - 65 Plate, 2016MY
D5 Commercial - Handed back when I left that job…
D4 Commercial (2014MY) - gone
D4 Commercial SDV6 - Baltic Blue (also gone)
D1 300TDi... 2" lift, HD bumpers (both), detachable tow hitch, 9,500lb winch, 235/85/16 muds and plenty of other toys (gone to make way for the next toy...)
Smiles per Mile - Tornado Motorsports caged Evo 3... 100" Defender look-alike, with Range Rover running gear - all fully IVA'd and registered!

It's down to the fact that Special Vehicles do them in batches so wait until they have a complete set of (say) 20 to do in one hit.
I heard a rumour that there are now less Commercials being sold as you can only get the XS spec vehicle now (ie more expensive as a starting point) but think mine is all on track for the original date.
I was told mid-Feb at time of order but said that I would wait for the new reg...
The suggestion is that I should have it on the drive on 28th Feb as long as I sign a bit of paper saying I won't drive it until Midnight! Daft really, as the insurance would be void if I did...D4 Commercial - 65 Plate, 2016MY

Ordered mine in July and took delivery at the end of November. We'll worth the wait when it eventually arrives!

I was speaking to my dealer the other day and he's a wise old owl and been in the motor industry for 30 plus years. He pointed out that a Discovery Commercial for example takes as long to build as a Range Rover but the margins are very different. That's why you can only get Commercial XS now.
The market in China and other rapidly developing countries is so competitive and there are a lot of wealthy people with money burning a hole in their pocket. Once those people make their first 'premium' car purchase they are more likely to stay with that brand. Therefore, LR can't afford to keep them waiting and the vehicles they order are more profitable than many of the UK models.
The T5 line can only produce a certain number of vehicles per day so it stands to reason that the guy in China will get his £120k RR build before a D4 GS or Commercial for the UK. If we want a LR in the UK we're more likely to be prepared to wait for it to be built.
If we were running a factory I'm sure we would be tempted to do the same. I'm not saying it's right but that's just where it is. Lots of lower priced variants are seeing their build dates slip further and further back.
On a plus side it should help with RV's

Many markets, Russia and China being one will only spec the most expensive with all options - it is how they are.
The margins have always been great - RRC days the cost of the car to build was around £7-11kMike

RR Vogue in China is the equivalent of £250000 on the road due in part to high import duty!!!!!
