Extra Care reduced from £1012 to £799 all while he was having a cuppa and catching up on last night's footie results (were there any ) while I was on hold. He also threw in one month free and emissions/airbags and in-car entertainment (inc. SatNav) cover.
When quizzed about why those two late entry covers aren't already included as standard..."because not everyone has them"!
Argh, what to do. I know £300 is a big saving but...

Try and get Luxury care for the same price, it's much more comprehensive and lists the few items you are NOT covered for, whereas Extra care lists what you are covered for which is more difficult as there are so many parts.
Warranty Direct is the best out there, Ok you have to pay the bill but get a cheque back within a week, my dealer does all the paperwork as it is done via an internal computer system, so no issues at all there. Don't be fooled by marketing speak, at the end of the day LR warranty is subbed out and has absolutely nothing to do with LR, with half a brain you can make your own arrangements AND get new for old that LR named policy doesn't give

pretty big list of excluded parts on the WD Luxury Care as well...
I'm quite happy with the LR product (knowing it is subbed out to Car Care Plan) because I only have to deal with the dealer and for those few occasions where they are difficult or it's a "grey" area, LR Customer Services have been very excellent to help find an agreeable solution...
On a previous question on LRA - yes it's generally AA that is called out but depending on the issue or if AA are unable to fix it, I have been given the option of having a specific LR technician look at the car, usually arrives in a Disco with LRA badging and uniform and they carry some LR parts if quick fixes or arrange for recovery to local LR dealer and liaise directly with dealer network to explain issue and get something booked in, with a courtesy car as well...
yes, maybe LRA and extended warranty is not a direct LR product and a bit more expensive, but not much more and the peace of mind is worth it IMHO ... just my 2p though
UPDATE: Despite my car being over the published 70k mileage for Luxury Care, WD has agreed to accept it and at no cost over the Extra Care quote.
4 weeks left until LR v WD decision time then.Front Runner Rack, OEM Ladder & RAI, Tuff-Trek Foxwing, B'rakhah Ingonyama Expedition Trailer, RLD's Spare Wheel Protector, Bodsy's Bars, Empty Pockets! Member of Gloucestershire & Worcestershire 4x4 Response.

Great negotiation, make sure that you READ all of what is not covered with Luxury care then there will be no moans later, everything is in black and white, unfortunately some people moan because they have bought something and not read it.
At least with Luxury care it states the few items that are NOT covered compared with Extra care that states what IS covered which is more difficult
Check with others on here including DSL to ensure you have covered all angles including 'betterment'
Good luck with YOUR choice

Yep, make sure you get the standard "extras" thrown in. No betterment, airbags & emissions, 13 months for 12, dealer rates, and anything I've forgotten. Get then now and you'll have them for future renewals. I'm on the same package now as I took out 4 years ago, I wouldn't be abe to get anywhere neat that as a new customer.

If you are going WD LuxuryCare, confirm:
* "No Betterment" is standard on LuxuryCare (it is, but I like to hear them say it)
* Main Dealer Unlimited Labour Rate (usually they say up to £200 per hour)?
* Cost with "No Excess"?
* 13 months for price of 12 months?
* Turbos included?
And add or confirm over the phone:
* Sat Nav
* Airbag and emissions
* Alarm and immobiliser
* In-car entertainment
* Remove off-road clause
And see if they do a comprehensive breakdown cover (they guy I spoke to couldn't be ar*ed finding out what they could offer).
Prices I was quoted for the above (no breakdown cover) were:
* £842.11 - 1 Year
* £1389.48 - 2 Years
* £1936.85 - 3 Years
I suspect they could be negotiated down a wee bit more.
