Hi Matt,
Sorry to hear you are selling your car, hopefully you will continue to add your considerable experience to the site.
Can I suggest that you take the extra bits off your car and sell them separately. They will not make you any extra money on your sale for sure but you will make a bit of extra cash I am sure from other members.
I've taken out my piano black dash. I'm leaving the light guards and side steps on the car though.
So soon, I may be selling the dash kit, off-road wheels, roof bars & Mantec tray. I'm not going to sell anything until the car has gone so no offers yet please. I was considering keep this stuff as my incentive to get another D3 one day (not that I need an incentive). However, there is quite a bit of money tied up in that lot which would go along way towards the replacement vehicles (estate car and a cheap off-roader).Matt

Hi Matt,
Got to say the side steps and light guards I would think to be simple sellers on the forum and high in value.
Having been in the motor trade the added value is negligible and of some good value to you. But it is of course only my idea.
Trouble is that if I take the side steps off (again) then I would need to spend £112 on a set of plastic sill covers, as you're left with some big holes for the step mounting brackets. So that's not really an option.
Lamp guards are easily removed, but decided it might be better to leave something on the car to make it look better and a bit different from the others that are for sale.Matt

Good luck with the sale d3matt.
I'm sure you know loads about cars already, but anyway - you say you're looking for an estate car. We have just spent months choosing a perfect family estate car. We finally settled with an 2005 Volvo V70 and I've got to say, if you're prepared to go 2nd hand, or nearly-new, then you can get some cracking examples in as-new condition with loads off the price thanks to depreciation. Our T5 depreciated more than £15k in just over 1 year, and thanks to the personalised plate - nobody I've challenged can find any evidence that it's not factory-fresh. Depends what you're looking for though. Just thought that might help!
