Play time in Warwickshire
Played loads of time with my defender but mainly mechanical stuff going on (limited intervention from technology) so in terms of my experience, no probs.
Now time to try the software as well as hardware of the Disco....not bad fun actually, well impressive really. I just get a bit more fretful when it comes to breaking it, different £££££££ if it goes wrong but thankfully nice and tame today.
anyway some piccies

Looks like you had a good time
But you seem to park up in some strange places.

Alan, my mate got caught up for a bit so I had to go solo with the pics
Petersw, GG AT's, they behaved well with plenty grip until it got really muddy but that was acceptable

Hi Sweatysock, where about in Warwickshire was this? Is it on some public access or private land.
Looks like you had some fun.
cheers

Si,
I happen to know the guy who owns the land but he does allow P&P at £20 for new comers and less than that when he knows you.
It is a place called Wagtail which is a farm in Halford south of Stratford Upon Avon. Good mixture of surfaces and conditions to suit all and nice and informal so you can just pop along.
Cheers, Keith

Looking at your tailgate sticker I hope you've got your passport ready!!
Great shots .....was it as good as your Defenders or not....which did you prefer the tractor principle or the electronics...be interested to hear your views...

That is a good question. My off road experience is fairly limited with the D3 and mature with the Def so a bit unfair at this stage but my immediate response must be the "tractor" approach leaves more to the driver which I like.
That said, the D3 coped very well and I had all the creature comforts so no complaints
Head therefore D3, heart Def.

Just interested to hear your thoughts....I've got an old P38 Range Rover without any of the driver aids which I feel more confident off road than the D3.... Can feel and control exactly what's going on.....is that due to my lack of trust/skill/ability or not?
It would be interesting to do a comparison in real life who could get where and in which vehicle....

Did you go play in the bomb holes at the top? I guess the Disco is a bit too long for some of them?
Been up to wagtails in my series, might be tempted to take the disco up as the worst you can do is get it stuck

So yes close to Subaru garage and happy to have mini meet if there is the appetite. In terms of the bomb holes, I avoided these because Charlie (owner) is keen we do not beat the land up too much in the winter but yes, the D3 is to long for some of these.
I would suggest the spring would be better for a get together unless there is anyone who wants light / medium type play time as this type of terrain is always available.
In spring, the whole area is more "doable" without damage but a healthy challenge for any vehicle.

a couple of further piccies to show the terrain

We would be up for a meet whenever .....just say and it's in the diary!
I may even brink the series for the more "challenging" sections
