The you tube comments...

Five Seats...I just couldnt make these out....but if they lose the capacity of what we have now BIG mistake.... Censored off those who want to just make the D3?D4 shape sexier of somehow newer at the expense of the carrying capacity, load carrying passenger possiblities...if you dont want this ona Disco go buy something else...maybe a RRS...but dont adversly influence the decsision that give us the next generation of Disco

THE KNOB.......BIG mistake...."novelty" value on Jag XF sadly got passed on to XK's, Xj's & various LR vehicles only not to appear on the RRS....some like it some dont....it may be tidier, but more to go wrong (& they do)....but please LR give us (at least) a lever of some sort...the Jaguar J gate was inspired & worked well...very intuitive.

The shape is very very much like the 10 year old concept vehicle pictures I scanned in & posted on here...the current D3/D4 shape is a tame version of this (look at the Autocar booklet to see this.....)
 BREXIT - done properly.

D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

5 Seats?

Looks like it'll be time to switch back to a FFRR. If it's going to loose it's practicality and utilitarian nature then there's very little point, to me, in having a "posh" 5 seater for the kind of money they'll be asking which will probably be what, £65k + for a well specced model?

Is this for the freelander replacement though, not the D4 replacement which I would expect to definitely have 7 seats?

Good point

I would have thought if the Discovery family is to be a family...there ought to be some family resemblance....look similar.....FL2 replacement smaller less accomodation (high price...higher price differential wise as of now)...Disco 3/4 development.....more capacity passenger load space wise.....

This has all the hallmarks of being a teaser for some elements of the freelander replacement rather than the "big" discovery. Not liking the seat designs, looks a bit low spec euro hatchback with the materials, but I'm sure when it hits the show and better pictures are available I'll change my mind a thousand times
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I'm eagerly anticipating what ever it is ! And the 10 year model life span is about up so we are due a change,

I will be the first to say that the D4 is a different beast to that which appeared 10 years ago in terms of refinement and buil quality but the step up from D2 to D3 was huge, I'm hoping that the new disco will look different but subtly like you can tell the D1 morphed into the D2 which had a minor face lift then the D3 which has had minor face lifts but essentially the D4 is still the D3 ?
Those with a D4 will probably disagree but it's not wholly dissimilar to the D3.

I'm due a change, my D3 is showing its age and I can't remember the last time I kept a car this long !

Everything else LR have touched has been a step up, F2 the new Sport and the new FFRR I can't see why they would drop the ball on the Disco replacement ?

Hurry up with it !
I can't hold out much longer

This is the first in a new family of Discovery vehicles rather than a straight replacement I believe. I think that is why the recent change to discovery badging on the bonnet rather than model designation on the back.
