Had a 36,000km service from my dealer yesterday (cost $330.00). HSE is 11 months old. Like on the UK site, on closer inspection of the back RH tyre it is down to wire on the inside 20mm or so. I knew the front RH was wearing a litte as well, but didn't pick up on the rear until one climbed underneath. Dealer wanted to fit Hancooks ($380.00) but I declined as I had done my homework (hopefully) and ordered the bigger HT+ Coopers ($379.00) to be fitted in a few days. The tyre man says he can align both front and back - hope he knows what he is talking about. Mind you the LR dealer cannot do it either and sends them to Jax. Will get the local tyre man to strut his stuff every 15,000km and he says then Coopers will honour the guarantee,(60,000km?) even though we are not in a capital city. The dealer reckons the fitted Wranglers are more than $550.00!!
Bought an 18" wheel from Kenso for a second spare and it arrived from WA to Central NSW on the 7th day. Contact him if you want one. My originals are 10 spoke but his 5 spoke are meant to fit the same as both are TDV6.
I drive around the odd paddock inspecting cattle and moving slowly without your seatbelt on is very intrusive. The trick for disabling the "ding ding" (it leaves the dash light on) is about the best trick I have learnt.
Just one other thing that I am not sure if anyone has commented on with D3s - the turning circle is amazing. Don't take it for granted, ask any Defender driver or someone like a Triton or Rodeo driver! 2006 HSE TDV6 Bonatti Grey, ECB bull bar, tropical roof, LG Next G car kit, Tom Tom GPS, UHF, Mitchell Bros tow bar, Kimberley Kamper Limited Edition camper trailer and 23 foot Haines Signature half cabin (Towed separately!)

I am with you on the great turning circle. It is much better than any of my other 4WDs. Nearly in Triumph Herald class!! Said very quietly.
But I am concerned that weight of the D3 and the great turning circle/scrub angle is causing premature front tyre wear. Mental note to self: Turn wider unless absolutely necessary.
Tyres will be my next concern as I am now at 26 600 km.

hi Bob,
The LR man should be able to do a suspension realignment (if required).
Is 36000Km an acceptable distance for the Wranglers?
You are'nt waiting for the General AT2?
I pivk mine up this Thursday regards
Peter

Saw your car yesterday at the dealership. They were replacing the front mudguard because of the scratches. (no, no just joking!!). It looks very smart.
Re the wheel alignment. They do not do it but send it off to Jax Tyres to be done. I was 120km from home and have ordered my tyres locally, so will have it done here as he says he can do same. Cannot wait for the Generals - I was told that they may not even arrive until June. Also no one knows a price. I would be driving on the rims by then. Disappointed with the Wranglers, although no doubt the mis alignment has not helped. Will try the Cooper HT+ - the larger size affects the speedo by 1.5km per 100km I am told. 2006 HSE TDV6 Bonatti Grey, ECB bull bar, tropical roof, LG Next G car kit, Tom Tom GPS, UHF, Mitchell Bros tow bar, Kimberley Kamper Limited Edition camper trailer and 23 foot Haines Signature half cabin (Towed separately!)

Guys,
Jamo has done some research on this tyre wear issue and in a previous post he published the following:
TSB LA204-009V2 Dynamic Suspension Geometry Setting Mode
TSB LA204-008V2 Uneven Tyre Wear
If your dealer can't sort this, he needs to lift his game. After reading the British threads about this, you would be within your rights to hit Land Rover for replacement tyres. Mention the TSB's to your dealer. D4: Expedition Rack, 104 Litre Long Range Tank, Raised Air Intake

Hi 47K out of std wranglers. Is the alignment that involved that it needs to be done by dealer at approx $280 or would the tyre fitter be able to do it properly at $70.00?

Coment on speedo eror.
OE wranglers according to speedo on my GPS , car speedo reading aprox 3 Km/hr fast.
Cooper HT + reads nearly spot on
Cooper STTs reads aprox 1 Km/hr fast
So dont be concerned about changing to a slightly larger diamerer tire.

If it's a significant alignment problem, then it's WARRANTY!
If it's because you've hit too many kerbs, then you really still need the dealer to put it into the right mode for you otherwise you'll be getting the alignment done regularly. Have a nice day!
