All very clever technology this HUD, transparent bonnet stuff, as well as the 9speed 'box (no transfer case), and active 2wd/4wd driveline stuff likely to come to the new disco family (from this years evoke). There's likely to be more to come....
Also very clever marketing by LR drip feeding this new tech slowly into the market these last couple of weeks...especially after the initial 4/6 months of MY14 changes begins to settle. Likely to be more releases before the weeks out / NY begins!!
Kudos to LR for clearly trying to be leaders in the off-road market in the next decade.
Not sure they'll convert the die hard enthusiasts with just new tech though.

How come I have not seen anything here regarding the 'transparent' bonnet Land Rover is supposed to show to the public in New York?
Here is a link to an article (in Dutch, sorry) but with a video in it.

What a great feature/idea! I hope that it will be able to be retrofitted to my Disco...

I think haters are always gonna hate tbh. Any good idea comes out, there'll be someone who doesn't like it. Each to his own I suppose. Personally, I thinks it's pretty clever technology and I'd like to see it in the flesh. How can MORE vision from the driving seat be a bad thing? Just MHO but no one's twisting anyones' arm are they.
