2008 Interior update in UK - Is Aus Disco getting an update? |
|
I noticed that the UK disco is due for a refreshed interior, does anyone know if the Australian market will also get this. I asked the dealers but they are all keeping quite, but reading between the lines some update is planned!

Welcome aboard!
I think the changes are only minor. Have a nice day!

Thanks, I have previously owned a Disco 1 and thought it was great offroad, but 3 years ago turned to the darkside and got a new Patrol. The Patrol is pretty much bullet proof but was not as good offroad as the series 1 Discovery so I can't wait to get back into a Disco.
I hope the model year changes are minor as I just placed my order in March and it is due to be built next week so I am not sure what I will get!

You will get a vehicle that will make You wonder, as I did, why You even thought the Patrol was good. The D3 far exceeds a Patrol in all aspects, IMHO.
Welcome and enjoy. Did you think I would leave you crying,
When there's room in my D3 for 7,

I can go just as fast with 7.

Has anyone had confirmation of spec changes to the Australian 2008 D3?
I have ordered the SE specification so I am keen to know whether anything has been added or deleted from the SE specification in the model year changeover.
Thanks

Check with the dealer before delivery as if something has been deleted to could cause a hassle on collection.

The people at Land Rover Australia deny that there is going to be an update for Australia. The model year has changed to 2008, but according to the customer care supervisor there will be no specification or internal changes. Personally I am not sure if I believe them as why call it 2008 model year if there are no changes?

I sent an email to LR asking for any information on the MY08 changes and they replied today stating that they have not yet received any information on the changes. Make of that what you will!
Cheers.

My dealer has just came back to me and said he has finally seen the pictures. From what he says there is no premium (wrinkled) leather or spec changes on the SE for Australia. The only changes he can see are some of the fascia / plastic items have changed colour from grey to silver, e.g around the gear selector and steering wheel.
So it does sound very minor.
The good news is that my car should dock on the 21st July - I guess I should get 1st week of Aug. I am not sure if I can wait another 4 weeks.

Cheers,
Martin
