On a more positive note, my new Narpy grill arrived today, and was fitted in minutes 8)

I'm very pleased, although the silver does look a little bright next to the metallic grey of the badge. I may tone it down a bit in time, but I'll get used to it for now.Darren

It's been a busy (and spendy ) few days on the Discovery front. I got it back from Guava yesterday with new front bushes and ball joints, steering rack and track rods, rear anti-roll bar bushes and a four wheel alignment. The steering rack was an unwelcome surprise but Guava were very good on the pricing. Anyway, the cost was worth it as the vehicle has been transformed. No more bangs and clunks and it's regained that magic carpet feel that they're famous for. So that's all good
Today I've swapped the brake light switch after noticing that the brake lights weren't going off very sharply. A quick search on here suggested that swapping the switch for the later Ford part would be a good move, although it didn't go exactly as planned. Firstly, the replacement part that I ordered, described as OEM, came in a Britpart box and secondly, the switch that I took out already was the Ford part They do look identical except that the Ford logo and part number has been obliterated on the mould for the new switch. As it's such an easy job I swapped them over anyway and the brake lights do seem to operate more effectively, but I've kept the old switch as a spare, just in case

Mud Flaps
The other job I managed to do today was fit some Series Land Rover rear mud flaps. After a bit of double measuring on the first one, it was a relatively straightforward task.

They're secured with a couple of large self-tappers drilled into the arch liner and a couple of 6mm plastic nuts and bolts that pass right through. The latter uses one existing hole and then a second new one. I'll probably replace the self-tappers with some stainless ones but didn't have any of the right size to hand at the time.

Each flap was cut to fit around the exhausts as shown on the sketch below:

I'm quite pleased with the result, although I may have left them a bit long. I'll live with them for a few days and see how they go. I can always cut them down a bit if necessary.Darren

Looks realy good Darren - why did you change the roof bars - to fit the roof box?, looks like Thule on the last pics and wondering why as OEM ones in earlier pics?
Only reason I ask is i have Thule (came with car) but never used as yet?

Ah yes, forgot about that! Yes, I've swapped them so that they're a better fit for the Ozpod. I was delighted to arrange a straight swap for my LR bars with titters of this parish.Darren
