a/ What did you do with your insurance - did premiums go up ?
Told them it was for towing/economy reasons and there was no increase in premium

b/ Has anyone had any subsequent dealer or reliability issues ?
Considering it was LR dealer fitted...... I don't think so

a/ this will depend on your insurance company, and what you actually call the up-grade. For instance if you call them and say 'I have had my car chipped' compared to 'I have had a re-map to suit towing' you may find one of these descriptions is lighter on the wallet.
b/ None that I am aware of.
c/ my SWMBO is the one that insists the vehicle is re-mapped so I cant help you on this one.In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Maybe anybody knows closest to Estonia Turbochip dealer? Finland, Sweden, Baltic region? The best I've found is in Switzerland, too far away, unfortunately.

LR tech drove mine the other day, stated it had been chipped after about 10yds. (not an issue as it is out of warranty now).
So, don´t delude yourself that LR can´t tell from the diags, they don´t need to, a short drive will tell them in any...and frankly if it doesn´t then go get your money back on the chip!Cheers

Just 'Torq-Tuned' an 08.5MY - the owner came back from the test drive with double perma -
So it IS possible
Hobgoblin, I suspect there is an underlying problem with your engine causing it to use the default 'fallback' map, not all engine running issues put the warning light on...
Diagnos completely overwrote the ECU with the standard MAP first then supposedly uploaded the tuned one, possibly a little bit better in mid range, but certainly not the results others are talking about, any ideas what the problem could be I'm not as good as I once was........but I'm as good once as I ever was.

The 08MY onwards uses a slightly different area of the ECU to store the map, it's possible that your particular HW / SW combination isn't recognised correctly by their tuning procedure, although generally this would cause the vehicle not to start at all.... did they read / clear any DTC's relating to the engine or transmission?
NOTE, this isn't a 'my tune works better than yours' reply, genuinely trying to help you resolve this...
I'm up and down the M42 / M5 quite a bit next week - happy to meet up to have a look at any stored DTC's for you
10, I would appreciate any help you could provide. Not sure what DTC's are, but if they are fault codes the answer is yes, they must have 'reset' the transmission about 3 times.
I would be more than happy to meet up with you, as I said any help would be appreciated, can't do Tuesday and we are heading down to South Devon on Thursday.
Thanks in anticipation.
