My old D3 had the cubby fridge but my newer D4 does not.
Is it possible to retro fit?

Yep, but just check yours is OK as i believe there was some issues with software versions on some D4.5 models - what do you have
Assuming yours is OK just order one and fit - takes around 30 minutes to fit, on the d3 it would run after you'd locked the car, however on the D4 i think it only comes live with ignition on.Must stop buying shiny toys....

I bought a used one off eBay from a D4 for £100 inc postage - it was supposed to be a D3 one but had been removed from a D3 but was built in late 2015 so can't have been on the car for more than a couple of months
Think the best price for a new one will be from Dan at Duckworths as they give a discount to forum members.
Worth watching eBay though as they are often on there used and new

Probably the peltier gone on the fridge, have a read through some of these threads
Just to revive this thread I have a chance of buying a D3 fridge and was wondering is it true that the fridge will run after the ignition is off thus flattening the battery or am i mistaken ?The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;

"Cool box will continue to operate for a short period after the starter switch is turned to position 0"
"Cooling performance is maximised when the cooling tray is used"
Thanks, what i mean is if its retro fitted does this make a difference ? It will be a d3 fridge going into a d3 The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;

D4 fridge in D3 stays on unless switched off with its rocker switch.
D3 fridge in D3 has voltage sensing relay so stays on unless voltage drops low.
D4 or D3 fridge in D4 goes off with ignition off.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

I would think retro fitting operates the same as if it were factory fitted, effectively runs on switched live.
Just eats battery if ignition ON, but engine OFF - as all the electric gizmos do on a disco. That's why I fitted a Traxide
