Replacement towbar from BRS |
|
Seeing that there have been a few queries re this , I thought I would post an update . Had the towbar fitted at BRS while I waited. It comes with the option of a std tow ball or a very nice one that has an integrated pin for recovery purposes. R3300 for the integrated one
I was quite suprised to see 3 other D3's in for various fitment options , tyres , split charging systems , winches etc.
Only drawback with the towbar is that the PDC now constantly goes off when in reverse. Not a big deal really but has anyone found a workaround .

Remove the towball only. This has sorted mine out. I attach it every time I require it which is only really when I go on holiday.

What Bruce said works for me, and for my mate, Barry.
I did notice that sometimes if the sun is at a really low angle like late afternoon now in the winter and shining on the towbar, it sets off the PDC, but mostly if you remove the towball, you are OK, assuming you bought the one with the removeable ball/recovery point, it's as simple as pulling it out.
FYI it stores really easily on top of the standard towbar in the boot. Just open the strap a bit and slide the thing in.

luke9999 could you please post a pic of that heavy duty ball and ball cover. you said you paid R2800.00 from G4. i was quoted R2800.00 for the standard one from G4. and an additional R400.00 for the heavy duty ball with the removable pin. ie.R3200.00 and there is no cover available for that one.

Yup around R2800 sounds like what BRS would charge for the std towball as well - I remember the one I got was about R600 more
