Headlamp beam converting

Hi all, am a newbie on here so be gentle with me... Embarassed

Am taking my D3 to France for fortnight and would like to know how to convert beams for driving on the right.

Lowly XS only has halogens so no lever at back, at least according to manual.

Anyone know where to put the tape?

Welcome Steve Thumbs Up

General conclusion from a recent similar thread seemed to be don't bother with the masking!
Some of us have done a fair bit of driving on the wrong side of the road with no light issues,
When did you last see a left hooker over here from the continent with beam benders on?

As others have said, you can get away with not having deflectors/tape etc. although it IS still a legal requirement. If you go via ferry to Calais watch out for the police at the port - they sometimes have a nasty habit of picking out drivers not showing beam deflectors for a car once-over to see what else thay can fault you with (and get an on-the-spot fine from you)

I've been back and forwards to France a lot over the past many years and never had a serious problem without them. I can even remember the days when French headlamps had to be orange/yellow Shocked
My advice is to buy the cheapest deflector bits and keep them in the glove box - if you do get stopped explain that you haven't had time to fit them - you should get away with that (I have!)

However, I'm sure you know that you must carry a warning triangle thingy - it is compulsory to use one after an accident that you've caused by not having your headlamp beams deflected Rolling with laughter

Hi again,

Appreciate responses, but would really like to try and stay within the law Bow down
Have motored to the south of France and Spain on numerous occasions, but have never had a problem to date with not knowing how to convert headlamps. (1st time in a landy)

Perhaps I'll speak to my dealer, Beadles in Sidcup Big Cry
