Matti
did you do any mods to the car other than the suspension?
Also the set up internally anything specific, as always looking to refine this for touring?

Wildrover, the essential mods were a dual battery system. I was running a 55 litre unit as a fridge and another 45 litre unit as a freezer. We vacuum sealed a lot of pre-cooked meals. In my case I used a Ctek Smartpass as an isolator to the main battery and because it allows a full 90A charge current into the optima Yellow top AGM battery in the second battery compartment under the bonnet. I installed 2 additional sockets in the rear fed from this battery.
A UHF cb radio is essential. (As is a Sat phone). I have one permanently installed in my D1 but didn't want to tear into this one too much so I used a handheld 5W GME unit. The charger base fit squarely under the "ashtray" position and it lived in there on full charge all the time.
More to follow over.,...... Buckingham Blue D3 - some clean bits, some dirty bits.

Also just noticed you have a traxide system so you will be well setup already. If I had to I would be confident in the vehicle with no mods at all. I did carry a spare brake light switch - paranoia got the better of me
I left the covers off the recovery points as standard operating procedure so a snatch strap can be quickly attached if a recovery is required. That's about it, nothing real special. - Matti
Just noticed the photos on AULRO can't be accessed by my friends here on Disco3 so I will jump on the other 'putey and upload them into my gallery on this forum
Photos of mods uploaded onto my gallery now. Buckingham Blue D3 - some clean bits, some dirty bits.

Excellent. Little more trouble than in a 3 door classic RR with 44gals of petrol on the roof (which is held on with self tappers) in 1979 having to check the survey pegs on a hardly used French Line. Cooper S/Ts, Dynamic 17x7s, Rotronics 3 way battery control, Boab drawers, Polaris camera, Mitch Bros tow, 4x4Intell wheel carrier and cargo barrier, Obie's rear wndow protector, Windcheetah roofrack, Featherlite rooftop tent, Faultmate, Trakmaster Nullabor 17. VK3PR VHF UHF.

We have just flown over the Simpson desert at 37000 ft, on route from Sydney to Abu Dhabi. Looked awesome from the air. So wanted to be down amongst it all.
