Hi - I have a 2006 Discovery HSE and am planning a trip from Kampala to Cape Town next summer, with my wife and three children.
I could do with some advice on… everything really, including how long it might take. We won't have much time - a month perhaps a little more, and it can't be too arduous with smallish children.
Beyond time taken, it's more about how to prepare the car to avoid problems on the way, and what we'll need. I am thinking of a winch and snorkel - perhaps not actually necessary, but a good excuse to get them!
My Discovery has had its share of problems - though some of these have been caused by poor workmanship here in Kampala. But even so, I am aware that in many ways its complexity could be a problem on the way.
Any thoughts and advice would be very gratefully received.
