12 go to the Lakes
Its time for our next trip to the Lakes, Monday and Tuesday, think I forgot to order the sunshine so give us a wave on M74/M6 and around Cumbria, we'll be in four defender, a D3 and a Freebie.
We plan to do the best of the bunch from our last two trips and stay over with Joe at the Hydro in Windermere. Its been a long time coming, can't wait.
I'll post route details once we are back.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

This hobby is fine Stephen....as long as it always involves the full English breakfast that I'm currently enjoying while waiting for the rest of you in Carlisle "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Well this morning was a bit of a washout, absolutely hammered down with rain almost constantly. The river at the breasthigh road was well over the stones and really ripping down. We had a benchmark moment when AJM said, let's be sensible and give it a miss!!!
We then went over to the sadgill track (zigzag over to kentmere), this was ok, apart from the Freebie burning its clutch out, so that is now over in Penrith.
On return over we then headed up towards the gate at the South end of gatesgarth pass, quite stunning even in the pouring rain.
The afternoon was spent around the south of Windermere, like a different day, sunny and warm.
Now enjoying a pint in the hydro before dinner..
Tomorrow we do parkamoor and tiberthwaite,Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Excuse me.
My D3 is far from dodgy!
It's towed a freeby up a hill and lived upto the Team Luxury standards.
( we watched Ted during lunch over the iPad and sound system... )In loving memory of FA54WSK.
Rest well old friend, your work is done.

That was my 2nd benchmark moment of sensibleness.
I don't like this sensibleness stuff, it's boring!!
People seem to think I'm some sort of gunho person, it's all lies! Honest! In loving memory of FA54WSK.
